What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Resilience Programs Leader this role will manage a team of up to 20 direct reports providing effective leadership across Resilience Programs by leading a team responsible for resilience planning, system analysis and process improvements supporting the provision of drinking water, recycled water, stormwater, and wastewater services.

  • Translate the intent of Sydney Water strategies and direction from corporate plans, master plans, integrated system plans and asset plans into resilience programs for the water, wastewater, recycled and stormwater systems.
  • Develop service resilience improvement programs – operational risk management, performance monitoring, incident response protocols, systems operations & maintenance manuals, asset & system based contingency planning & analysis, operational contingency equipment planning, chemical contingency, business continuity planning, leak detection, dams safety.
  • Provide program and project level oversight for resilience projects & governance of regulatory data, including relevant input into performance against regulatory requirements & obligations.
  • Develop and maintain strong operational relationships with key regulators, emergency services, delivery partners and other stakeholders.

 

Who are we looking for?

  • Degree qualification in Engineering / Science/ Business Management or experience deemed equivalent.
  • Knowledge of water industry trends and water, wastewater, and recycled water systems
  • 10 to 15 years’ demonstrated experience in utility network or treatment operations or maintenance for water, wastewater, recycled water, or stormwater systems
  • Demonstrated experience in building and managing complex customer/regulator/stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrated high level ability to communicate with impact using highly developed written & verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in working with databases; analysing and managing data to identify trends, quality assurance and continuous improvement approaches; presentation of findings.
  • Demonstrated experience in Quality Management Systems
  • Proven willingness & ability to effectively operate within a team environment, including knowledge sharing with other team members.
  • A solid understanding of the application of information systems, particularly those used by Customer Delivery including BI, IICATS, CMS, Maximo, Hydra
  • Proven experience in performance against Environmental Protection Licence; including thorough knowledge of licence conditions.
  • Proven experience in working with process partners and service providers to achieve common goals, identify potential risks and recommend remedial actions.
