  • Based from our Parramatta and St Marys offices with hybrid working available
  • EA Level 12: $132,305.78 base salary plus super plus RDO

Are you an experienced Customer Service relationship professional with technical expertise in trade waste or similar highly regulated industry? This is an excellent opportunity to join our Business Customers team as a Customer Relationship Officer.

About the role

This role will support Sydney Water’s business customers to manage their accounts, ensuring that they comply with water regulations, and provide great customer service when advice is needed. You’ll also work closely with field staff and other teams to solve problems and ensure smooth processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and process applications from businesses that discharge wastewater.
  • Resolve customer issues and assist in settlement of any disputes.
  • Approve permits and arrange inspections when needed.
  • Monitor compliance ensuring clients meet regulatory obligations, and update their agreements.
  • Provide technical advice based on relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Use systems like SAP to track customer activity and manage billing.
  • Support awareness campaigns related to water use and education.
  • Work with councils and other partners to ensure compliance standards are met.
  • Manage small projects and oversee service provider contracts.

About you:

In addition to relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, environmental science or similar and at least 5 years experience in a relevant industry you will have:

  • Detailed knowledge of the impacts of commercial and industrial business practices on water utility products and services
  • High level communication, negotiation and stakeholder management and networking skills
  • Demonstrated high level of systems and process skills, including MS Office and SAP systems
