Capital Interface Manager

Manage the interface between Water Supply and Production, and Infrastructure Delivery from planning through to delivery and handover of new and upgraded water supply facilities.

About the role:

A dynamic role bridging the gap between Production and Infrastructure Delivery. You will oversee the entire process from planning to delivery and handover of new and upgraded facilities. You'll be the point of contact for Water Supply, working closely with Infrastructure Delivery from the initial stages through design, construction, commissioning, and handover. You will ensure that insights are seamlessly integrated into capital planning and delivery. Plus, you'll make sure that our needs for safe and efficient operation and maintenance of assets are always met.

What you will be doing: 

  • Lead a high-performing team: Provide project interface technical support and manage projects from planning to handover.
  • Prioritise work: Support planning, engineering, construction, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Understand investment needs: Ensure planning, prioritisation, investment, procurement, and delivery partners grasp the operational drivers for effective decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate closely: Work with the Process Optimisation, Water Production Teams, WaterNSW and Buil Own Operate (BOO) partners to integrate operational expertise into strategy, planning, and project delivery.
  • Meet requirements: Incorporate operational needs for operability, maintainability, safety and efficiency into investment planning, prioritisation, and delivery decisions.
  • Interface management: Act as the project interface lead for Water Supply & Production with the Infrastructure Delivery and ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Team performance: Manage, train, and develop team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Resource allocation: Prioritise resources across various project stages.
  • Customer experience: Deliver reliable products that offer value for money and ensure outstanding customer satisfaction.
  •  Safety and compliance: Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Strategic input: Provide quality input into product and asset strategies to achieve desired outcomes.


Your Experience and Qualifications:

In addition to a degree in Engineering or another relevant discipline, we are ideally looking for further qualifications in Project Management or Leadership. Also you will have:

·      10+ year’s professional experience in Plant Operations, Upgrades or Management.

·      Experience in leading the planning and delivery of the operational aspects of complex projects.

·      A track record planning and/or managing the operational integration of engineering infrastructure projects.

·      Excellent communication and report writing skills

·      Ability to problem solve engineering and operational issues.

·      Intermediate skills in the management and understanding of contractual, legal, commercial and legislative requirements

·      A working knowledge in, and application of, appropriate legislation and corporate policies e.g. Sydney Water Act, Public Health Act, Protection of the Environment and Operations Act, Freedom of Information Act, Workplace Health and Safety Act and Contaminated Land Management Act
