Community Engagement Manager
Sydney Water is on the lookout for multiple talented and driven Community Engagement Managers to lead and deliver a coordinated, program-level approach to community and stakeholder engagement across our major projects, regional programs, and complex initiatives.
You will ensure the successful development and delivery of projects and programs in the eyes of stakeholders by providing team direction and coordination in relation to community engagement, strategic and tactical communications as well as issues management.
We are looking for expert people leaders, who will drive performance and growth through trust, collaboration, and a clear direction.
What you will be doing
- Lead and inspire a team of regionally allocated community engagement professionals that provide services at an enterprise-wide level.
- Develop and maintain meaningful and influential relationships with the community and stakeholders throughout the asset lifecycle, from planning and construction to maintenance.
- Lead the design and implementation of robust community engagement strategies that elevate Sydney Water’s brand, safeguard reputation, and support program success.
- Coach and mentor staff and partners on managing and building effective community & stakeholder engagement through formal and on the job training.
About you
- Extensive experience working as a senior communications professional, stakeholder engagement, government relations, public affairs, media/journalism and or communications in a corporation, government department or agency.
- Demonstrated experience leading a high performing team in a high-pressure, matrix working environment.
- Own a strategic approach to business with advanced skills in co-creating and implementing community and stakeholder engagement plans that add value and support business objectives
- Proven ability to design, deliver and implement a proactive communication and engagement plan.
- Experience in working on the planning and delivery of infrastructure projects is desired.
