Your role will involve:

The purpose of SCADA Configuration and Test Engineer role is to assist in the development of RTU/PLC software and testing for water and wastewater systems and to contribute to project co-ordination, review of electrical drawings, review scope of works and provide technical advice on issues related to control system software and its application to the water and wastewater systems. This resource is responsible for the design, development, support, maintenance and refinement of SCADA/IoT Control Systems and software, to achieve monitoring and control of Sydney Water assets in the water and wastewater systems.

What will you be doing?

Build a positive safety culture by being a visible safety leader (Ensure safety by design)

Attend project, HAZOP and CHAZOP meetings and workshops when required

Provide input for the development and implementation of safe work practices to ensure the safety of self and others.

Testing of new routine SCADA Human Machine Interface (HMI) and database configuration changes.

Utilise integrated change and software management systems.

Prepare test, commissioning and configuration documentation for water and wastewater sites

Follow procedures for the configuration, testing and commissioning process.

Qualification and Experience:

Essential:

The ideal candidate should have recognised degree or equivalent qualification in areas such as (but not limited to) Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Mechatronics or Control Engineering.

Understand industry standard RTU/PLC programming languages

Basic Knowledge of SCADA system

Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to liaise with Sydney Water’s personnel and external parties.

Demonstrated commitment to WHS and the principles of EEO

Desirable:

Exposure to Computer programming Languages

Exposure to instrumentation relating to water system.
