Performance & Reward Manager

  • Fixed Term Contract until March/April 2023 - Maternity Leave Cover

About the role

Functional responsibility for the development, planning and implementation of all aspects of total rewards, including performance, remuneration, benefits and recognition, to all of Sydney Water. This includes owning responsibilities for strategy, policies, procedures, solutions, and operations for company wide application. Leading a team of reward professionals.

Key accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and refine enterprise wide remuneration, performance, recognition and employee benefits strategy, philosophy & frameworks to deliver on Sydney Water’s vision and strategy, and deliver the best value to Sydney Water and its stakeholders
  • People management and leadership of direct report/s including training, development and performance reviews.
  • Liaise with external vendors, consultants and industry bodies to monitor performance and reward functional trends. Authorise and lead innovative changes to transform and maintain best practice for Sydney Water performance and reward practices.
  • Ownership of job evaluations and job family framework.
  • Conduct risk, compliance, quality and assurance reviews.
  • Functional responsibility for performance and reward (including remuneration, benefits, people performance, recognition and related areas) to the whole of Sydney Water.
  • Responsibility, in consultation with Head of Culture & Performance and the People & Culture Leadership team for the establishment, implementation and review of the remuneration roadmap that has a mid to long-term (3-5 years) impact, as well as seeking counsel from the management and board to assist with analysis and decision making for the remuneration strategy.
  • Lead the end to end annual performance review process (Contribution and Development Plans) across Sydney Water, to align employees with the enterprise strategy, gain return on investment and to contribute to the growth and development of individual employees.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business or Finance.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in People and Culture, specialising in Remuneration, Benefits, Performance, Recognition and Total Reward
  • Recognised expert in highly specialist fields, including across the functions of Remuneration, Benefits, Performance, Recognition, Industrial Relations and Total Reward.
  • Ability to interact and influence at an executive/strategic level.
  • Demonstrated technical capability in managing remuneration and rewards for large organisations
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, complexity with a flexible approach
