What's the role?
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be able to make a real difference through this essential service to the community and the environment. The workplace includes office and outdoor activities while working with a diverse group of employees. You will be offered formal and in-house training to skill you for the role.
A willingness to take part in 12-hour 24/7 rotating shifts is required, and overtime rosters during weekdays and weekends. There is a 42.75% loading for shift work and/or a 26-hour standby allowance for any weeks worked on Standby if on day work (plus any overtime worked).
- Operate the plant in all conditions, in alignment with Treatment and Sydney Water frameworks including health and safety requirements, quality and information management protocols, incident response and business continuity frameworks
- Execute on-site process and asset checks using available systems, processes and procedures
- Take measurements from installed field instruments and execute lab testing, as required
- Perform process and equipment monitoring using SCADA
- Investigate, monitor and resolve issues identified during process and equipment monitoring activities
- Perform diagnosis and resolution for more complex process and asset issues, electrical, mechanical and instrumentation issues within capability
- Perform maintenance tasks, within capability and capacity
- Communicate between plants within Hub and the maintenance provider, and prepare Hub for planned work
- Provide updates to the Operations & Maintenance Coordinator for the Hub Monthly Operations and Maintenance Calendar
- Contribute to the prioritisation of maintenance to inform Maintenance and Minor Works’ priorities, weekly scheduling, and monthly forecasting
- Champion safety and wellness understand safety accountabilities
- Support the Hub team to work effectively and assist or coach others
- Support a high-performance culture. Role model SW values and behaviours and participate in a constructive and supporting working environment
- Provide input to the Hub manager for succession planning and personal development opportunities
- Assist in development training for new Hub members
- Support the development and management of beneficial relationships with delivery partners
Our ideal candidate for this position would have:
- Trade qualification or Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Science
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a current or previous role supporting and training team members
- Good people skills and experience in coordinating internal and external service providers to perform maintenance and project works, including complex isolation and plant cut overs
- Demonstrated safety leadership
- Experience in a production environment or asset maintenance
- Ability to complete and/or facilitate problem solving and trouble-shooting process equipment
- Exposure to safety, environment and quality management systems
- Ability to lead and mentor a team of peers
- A personal drive for continuous improvement and to contribute to a positive team culture
