About the role

As a Business Process Lead, you will be driving impactful process improvements across strategic priority areas and initiatives, from enterprise-wide projects to localized efforts. In this role, you will bring rigor, methods, and tools to uplift process maturity, deliver measurable improvements, and ensure seamless integration with third-party processes. You will act as a process leader, challenging the status quo to achieve significant business outcomes while being hands-on as needed. Additionally, you will drive transformation through coaching, providing delivery services for high-impact continuous improvement initiatives, and helping business units prioritize their efforts. Responsibilities

Strategic Impact: Play a crucial role in identifying, recording, and managing business process improvement risks, ensuring alignment with Sydney Water’s practices and standards.

Expertise and Innovation: Bring your process improvement expertise to our Centre of Excellence, utilising cutting-edge methods, tools, and templates.

Corporate Alignment: Understand and contribute to Sydney Water’s corporate strategy, embodying our values and behaviours to foster a positive and productive work environment.

Team Leadership: Lead and drive project teams to deliver significant process improvement benefits, maintaining high performance and alignment with our signature behaviours and values.

Collaborative Environment: Participate in team development, planning, and coordination activities to enhance team effectiveness.

Continuous Development: Maximise opportunities for coaching, training, and professional development to continually enhance your skills and capabilities.

Strategic Contributions: Contribute to board, committee, and executive papers for informed decision-making.

Mentorship and Growth: Coach, mentor, and develop the process maturity and improvement capabilities of project team members and colleagues.

About You

Essential Requirements

Tertiary qualification in business, engineering or related field, or experience deemed equivalent.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt or Master Black Belt.

10+ years’ experience in process improvement (lean, six sigma, TPM, TQM, TOC, Triz) or transformational projects

Demonstrated experience in implementing Lean, Six Sigma and/or other similar process improvement methodologies to identify waste and inefficiencies and develop action plans for improvement.

Strong analytical/ statistical analysis skills

Excellent communication skills, including translating technical details for non-technical audiences.

Experience working within agile methodologies.
