About the Role
The Design Director is responsible for the leadership of all aspects of design development, including scope definition, reference or concept designs, specifications development and the client-side management of designs throughout the life of the project. This role works in partnership with the Project Manager or Program Director to manage the scope of design by providing clear instructions to the design team and relevant stakeholders. Design Director will retain accountability for the design outcome through delivery by monitoring construction compliance with the design intent.

To be considered for this role you will need the skills and experience:
- Engineering degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent that is recognised under the Washington Accord
- Registration with Engineers Australia as Chartered Professional Engineering or equivalent is desirable
- Valid driver’s licence (Class C)
- Minimum 10 years' experience in multi-disciplinary engineering design, with at least 5 years leading design teams.
- Proven ability to manage engineering delivery across diverse infrastructure projects and asset classes.
- Strong technical expertise in concept development, detailed design, and resolving complex design challenges.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with experience leading meetings and workshops.
- Solid understanding of contractual, legal, commercial, and legislative requirements in engineering environments.
