Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing
The purpose of this position as a custodian is to support a culture that values Health, Safety and Wellbeing and enables the protection from harm of all employees, contractors and visitors.
- Recommend, deliver and manage the organisation's wellbeing program
- Supports the enablement of a culture that values health, safety and wellbeing across Sydney Water to achieve sustainable health and safety performance and behaviour change.
- Advise on health and safety risks and controls in line with Sydney Water's risk management processes.

About the role
The Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing remains current with health, safety and wellbeing issues, trends and laws and advise management on how Sydney Water's Framework - policies, systems and processes should be adapted.
This position is accountable of ensuring a robust program of governance for Safe and Well Together and operational health, safety and wellbeing work. Process ownership for health and safety lead and lag indicators and associated reports, injury management and return to work.
This position will advise on health and safety risks and controls in line with Sydney Water's risk management processes.
About you
In this role, you will demonstrate experience leading a culture change process in health, safety and wellbeing alongside your experience in leading a high performing and strategic healthy, safety and wellbeing team of subject matter experts, within a customer-centric model. It is also important that you have/ demonstrate:
- Approx. 10 years’ experience leading health, safety and wellbeing in a large, multi-risk organization.
- Minimum Degree qualification in Occupational Health, Safety or Environment.
- Highly practical service orientation & strong commercial awareness
- Strong interpersonal and interpersonal skills coupled with exemplary Leadership and People Management experience
- Flexibility with movements as this role will be office based but required to visit sites on a regular basis.
