Who are Laboratory Services?

We are the largest dedicated water and wastewater laboratory in the southern hemisphere with Tier 1 quality in our laboratory and field performance. This allows us to provide the highest level of assurance to the community of Sydney Water’s quality product.

We undertake sampling and analysis across all products, such as; source water, drinking water, wastewater, recycled water, environmental waters (ie river, beaches, ocean sediments), stormwater, biosolids, sludges, grit & screenings and Air Quality & Atmospheric Monitoring.


What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Chemistry Laboratory Manager, your daily duties include receiving and processing of samples, analysis of results, data entry, quality control, checks and calibrations, maintaining sterilization laboratory.

You will perform routine and non-routine analyses of samples from a variety of environments, using a range of equipment in accordance with procedures to meet customer quality and time expectations and regulatory and operational requirements.

Who are we looking for?

  • Must have a relevant tertiary qualification in Chemistry
  • 2-3 years’ experience working in a chemistry / field experience is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a team
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise high volumes of work
  • Knowledge of handling and storage of potentially hazardous materials
