About the role

We are seeking a Network Area Operations Engineer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Operations Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Operating and monitoring the network to ensure assets meet performance and reliability targets
  • Collaborating with Lead Network Operations Engineers to direct various teams in asset operation and maintenance.
  • Maintaining service and safety during asset renewals and developments including supporting growth projects.
  • Contributing to process improvements that enhance safety, performance, and efficiency.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships to support operational goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide operational and maintenance expertise for water, recycled water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
  • Work outside regular hours as needed, whether from home, the office, or in the field.
  • Deliver business strategies and operational plans to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Actively engage in corporate initiatives and provide input to improve community reputation.

About you

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A tertiary qualification in engineering or a related discipline, and/or relevant experience in water/wastewater operations and maintenance.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in analysing and improving system performance, asset isolation, and flow management.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivation with a proven track record of delivering projects both independently and collaboratively.
