About the Role
Sydney Water is seeking a Strategic Business Customer Operations Lead with strong project management skills and stakeholder engagement to join our Business Customer Accounts team.
This pivotal role will drive strategic initiatives by conceptualising, developing and implementing solutions to complex challenges affecting the way Sydney Water engages with and manages its high-risk, high-value business customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with relevant stakeholders to ensure initiatives and projects align with business needs and drive effective outcomes.
- Develop and implement governance, risk, compliance, and reporting frameworks for Business Customer Accounts.
- Foster strategic partnerships with industry associations and business customers to address market challenges and deliver innovative servicing solutions.
- Collaborate across Sydney Water to advocate for effective business customer outcomes, ensuring environmental and public health risks are managed.
- Support the timely and effective completion and review of business planning for Business Customer Accounts, determining annual focus areas, initiatives and deliverables.
- Monitor and report on progress against assigned strategic initiatives and Business Customers’ business plan activities.
- Lead and deliver business improvement, transformation initiatives or other ad hoc projects as required and present outcomes to internal and external forums.
About you
You’re a strategic thinker with a passion for driving change and delivering value. You bring:
- A degree in science, engineering, business, or a related discipline.
- Qualifications in project and/or change management (desirable).
- At least 5 years of experience in utilities, project management, or a related industry.
- Proven ability to lead change, influence stakeholders, and drive business improvement.
- Experience in establishing governance frameworks to manage risk and ensure compliance.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to balance short-term priorities and long-term goals.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities.
- A collaborative mindset and a track record of working effectively across teams.
