About the role

Reporting to the Head of Business Connect, the Procurement Services Manager is a leader in the organisation, this role plays an important part in engaging the team and stakeholders to inspire, build collaboration, coach and develop.

As an active and engaged member in the management team, you will manage the introduction of new services, manage service delivery for existing services, drive service evaluation and improvement, and provide functional oversight of procurement operations.

This role will direct support a driven team consisting of a Purchasing Hub Team Manager and Procurement Services Officers, as well as indirect reports, Purchasing Specialists and Purchasing Services Coordinators.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead service introduction, service delivery, service evaluation and improvement, and provide oversight of service operations to ensure Business Centre meets service, financial, contractual, and regulatory requirements and targets.
  • Manage procurement services review and evaluation, monitor performance data (client feedback and performance against service levels, transaction volume and cost, etc.)
  • Manage the relationship with all key Sydney Water partners to ensure close alignment of Business Connect services (Shared Services) with business requirements, and to identify service-improvement opportunities to drive down business costs and effectively support business capabilities.
  • Develop and entrench Business Connect procurement capability, frameworks, and enablers to drive a total cost of ownership (TCO) philosophy; and for setting standards for influencing results through changed behaviours and a high level of procurement service delivery

 

About you

This role will ideally suit a leader with a commercial mindset, who drives achievement through the fostering of innovation and seeing things through to a successful conclusion.

To be successful in this role you will require:

  • Graduate degree in Procurement, Business, or a related discipline and/or experience deemed equivalent.
  • Expertise in Procurement transactional and operational shared services including knowledge of SAP
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in Procurement shared services of which 3+ years’ experience was in a management role.
  • Well-developed strategic stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead transformation and change and drive business improvement with measurable results.
