What will you be doing? 

Sydney Water’s Asset Lifecycle team has a growing pipeline of work and has continuing requirements for experienced Construction Supervisors with a background in Mechanical and Electrical systems to join their team. We have a variety of projects across the Greater Sydney Region as part of our Major Projects team, ensuring critical assets are constructed, maintained, and able to continue to service the community into the future. Whether you enjoy working on a single large project or prefer to work across a suite of smaller projects there’s some fantastic opportunities for you at Sydney Water in the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) space.


As a Construction Supervisor you will:

  • Support project teams across all phases of the project lifecycle to ensure construction and maintenance is completed safely, and meets time, cost, quality, WHS, environmental, and stakeholder requirements;
  • Lead construction start-up activities;
  • Monitor and verify compliance during project delivery, ensuring KPIs are met;
  • Participate in continual improvement activities to ensure efficient and timely delivery of Sydney Water projects.

Department Overview: Sydney Water’s Program Delivery and Major Projects teams are responsible for constructing, maintaining, and upgrading Sydney Water’s infrastructure assets. Both teams form part of Sydney Water’s Asset Lifecycle group, responsible for delivering products and services across the asset lifecycle to Sydney Water customers via planning, infrastructure, and a long-term strategic focus.

 

Who are we looking for? 

We are looking for people who have a passion for delivering infrastructure construction projects, specialising in Mechanical and Electrical. You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Supervisory / management role working in Planning and/or Design and Construction (D&C) project delivery in Mechanical/Electrical infrastructure or utilities industry sectors. You have excellent communication skills and an ability to build strong and wide networks to support the delivery of capital works projects.

 

You will have:

  •  Tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical, or experience deemed equivalent
  • Construction Management qualifications will be advantageous but not essential
  • 10+ years’ total experience within construction and maintenance or heavy industry.
  • Sound construction management technical skills across electrical, mechanical and civil disciplines.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts is beneficial but not essential
