- Program Director, Leadership of Sydney Water's Major Projects program from inception to completion
- Play a pivotal role within our leadership team and form part of our $34 Billion Capital Works Infrastructure Programme.
About the role
Program Director
Reporting to the Head of Major Projects, this role will lead the successful development, delivery and ultimate benefit realisation of a suite of major projects as a sub-part of the overall portfolio. This role will be accountable for the projects throughout the asset creation lifecycle and be accountable for managing strategic liaison for these mission critical projects across Sydney Water. You will work closely with our key government regulators and partners such as DPIE, Treasury, IPART, INSW and Ministerial Offices.
Program Directors will lead and manage teams delivering projects from need identification, planning, concept design and approvals to design and construction, commission and handover as well as benefits realisation. The position leads and facilitates collaborative working across all parts of Sydney Water, with our key stakeholders and customers and our supply chain for the successful development, delivery and governance of our most strategically and commercially important projects.
You will ensure the building of long term trusted internal, key government agency and supply chain relationships and establish effective and integrated development and delivery of major projects, bringing together multi-disciplinary professionals. You will also work as part of a leadership cohort to build best-practice organisational capacity and capability to successfully deliver Sydney Water’s $35bn forward capital program with a key focus on continuous improvement and delivery efficiency.
About you
- You must have extensive experience delivering major projects worth $200+ millions, ideally in the water and wastewater space and/or utilities.
- You have experience in leading infrastructure programs and/or concurrent multiple large investment projects.
- Advanced high-level Government Stakeholder management expertise and you have successfully built business case and have implemented external government investment assurance processes.
- A relevant degree (e.g Science, Infrastructure Investment, Construction Management, Engineering, Environment, Commerce) or experience deemed equivalent.
- You have 15+ years’ of infrastructure delivery experience
- You have led large, multi-disciplinary integrated teams with extensive experience in planning, design and/or construction delivery within the infrastructure/utilities sectors.
- You are a safety champion, understand and have experience in risk assessment and management.
- You have ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity, influence, think strategically and creatively, collaboratively solve problems, achieve good commercial outcomes, negotiate and resolve conflicts and have advanced communication skills.
