  • Plan & execute the end-to-end demand, supply and inventory requirements across the Northern, Southern and Western regions.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain you will support the Annual Integrated Work Plan for Sydney Water across either the North, South or West region of operations.

This position will see you plan, organise, direct, manage and evaluate the Supply Chain (SC) activities and the inventory budget of the region, including managing processes, policies, business rules, roles & responsibilities, and performance metrics.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in training and coaching users in the implementation of new processes and procedures for inventory management. including SC master data, cataloguing, demand/supply strategy, inventory control, stocktaking & exception management.
  • Expedite inventory purchase orders to obtain current delivery dates, resolve blocked invoices, coordinate obsolete/alternate notifications and resolve stop supplies.
  • Provide input to ongoing supplier plan for inventory for the establishment of contracts for the supply and repair of mechanical & electrical equipment, spare parts and repairs to reduce expediting and enable more efficient use of established systems and processes.
  • Monitor and achieve targets against key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of SC in the region including but not limited to slow moving & obsolete stock reduction, SIFOT, DIFOT and other visibility & availability KPIs
  • Contribute to SC system and process projects and improvements using end to end functional and system knowledge to ensure effective implementation cross-functionally.
  • Use strong technical Electrical and/or Mechanical knowledge and experience to participate and assist in determining Inventory requirements for all routine and non-routine maintenance activities for SW’s fixed assets.
  • Provide technical input with Asset, Operations & Engineering teams in standardizing current and new Inventory to reduce number of SKUs to support ongoing operational maintenance.
  • Inventory Management – Inventory onboarding, Inventory analysis, Inventory Obsolescence, Demand Forecasting, Supply planning.

 

About you

As a successful applicant you will have 5+ years’ experience working in Supply Chain in a large, complex, asset intensive organisation preferably in a similar organisation or industry sector demonstrating your experience in working effectively with operations, engineering and maintenance teams across demand and supply planning, inventory control & management in a supervisory role.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or related field, or experience deemed equivalent.
  • Professional Supply Chain e.g., APICSqualification desirable
  • Exposure to MRO environments in asset intensive industries such as mining, oil & gas or utilities would be highly regarded
  • Project Management qualifications desirable
  • In depth knowledge of demand forecasting, materials management and master data management practices
  • High communication and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in partnering with line management in identification of opportunities for supply chain planning improvements
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SAP & Maximo Supply Chain ERP Systems.
  • Experience within a supply chain with over 20,000 SKUs in maintenance, Asset Management or mechanical / electrical Projects would be advantageous including knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical practises, including spare parts installation, maintenance and preservation
  • Demonstrates an operational knowledge of warehouse and inventory management principles, tools and best practices including recording and moving inventory within a Supply Chain network.
  • Demonstrates operational knowledge of Maintenance processes to apply principles, tools and best practices in Cataloguing for Inventory Management
