An exciting opportunity to join Sydney Water’s Infrastructure Portfolio – Investment Management Office (IP-IMO) as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Asset performance team. 

This team ensures that Sydney Water’s assets and infrastructure are both efficient and fit for purpose now and into the future to support great services delivery to our customers. 

The IP-IMO team manages Sydney Water’s capital investment portfolio, allocating funding, setting budgets and ensuring ROI on investment into capital infrastructure projects.


Responsibilities:

The Investment – Program Manager will support the successful delivery of Growth program outcomes through the ‘right projects at the right time’ whilst ensuring the realisation of program benefits within scope, time, resource, quality and budget constraints.

  • Develop the Sydney Water Infrastructure Portfolio, Programs and Projects in the context of current business objectives and operating environment, and to ensure successful portfolio delivery and realisation of outcomes.
  • Deliver infrastructure asset performance outcomes, effectively balancing cost, risk, and performance in alignment with the Strategic Asset Management Plan and relevant strategic asset management frameworks.
  • Leads and manages day-to-day performance of the IP-IMO Investment Management team on behalf of the IP-IMO Infrastructure Portfolio Operations Director. 

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree qualifications in a relevant discipline e.g., Engineering, Business or Finance.
  • Significant experience (Circa 10 - 15years) in establishing, embedding, and improving Portfolio Management functions / capabilities, preferably in an infrastructure / utility / regulated organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with and obtaining operational support from senior management and Executives.
  • Strong experience in program reporting and analysis to identify trends and issues for remediation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of best practice project and program management methodologies with demonstrated implementation experience.
  •  Working knowledge of SAP and Primavera (or equivalent ERP and PMS experience) desirable.
  • Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programs, including risk management.
