Responsibilities
The Investment – Program Lead will support the Senior Investment Program Manager in the successful delivery of Growth or Renewal programs outcomes through the ‘right projects at the right time’ whilst ensuring the realisation of program benefits within scope, time, resource, quality and budget constraints.
Sydney Water’s Infrastructure Portfolio – Investment Portfolio Office (IPO) sits in the Water and Environment Services team. This team ensures that Sydney Water’s assets and infrastructure are both efficient and fit for purpose now and into the future to support great services delivery to our customers.
The IPO team manages Sydney Water’s capital investment portfolio, allocating funding, setting budgets and ensuring ROI on investment into capital infrastructure projects.
You will deliver infrastructure asset performance outcomes, effectively balancing cost (TotEx), risk, and performance in alignment with the Strategic Asset Management Plan and relevant strategic asset management frameworks.
- Support the planning and design of the program and proactively monitor its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
- Provide Effective coordination of the program, its projects, and their interdependencies.
- Develop, manage, and maintain the program/project business case assurance and governance process and ensuring that the projects being delivered are aligned and deliver the best value.
- Monitor the program’s budget, monitoring expenditures and costs against benefits as the program progresses and ensuring program-level forecasts are reasonably accurate.
- Actively manage the Program performance reporting requirements
- Manage and resolve any Program risks and issues that may arise

Who are we looking for?
- Degree qualification in Engineering , Finance, Business, or other relevant Degree, or experience deemed equivalent
- Project and Program management experience within the civil infrastructure / utilities sectors
- Prior experience working in large, multi-disciplinary teams within complex business environment.
- Excellent business stakeholder management experience
- Exposure to best practice project and program management methodologies
- Experience in program reporting and analysis to identify trends and issues for remediation Professional Portfolio Management or Project Management qualifications will be well-regarded but are not essential.
