About the role
The purpose of this role is to enhance Sydney Water’s analytics capabilities to maximise the insights and value that can be drawn from our growing digital meter data of customer water usage. This will enable Sydney Water to better support our customers in water conservation and water security.
You will be a part of the Digital Metering Transition Team who supports the business in providing value to customers through data analysis and reporting by development of dashboarding and analytic tools. You will build and run reports on customer water usage and meter operations and document processes to enable continual improvement and training material.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in collecting data and assessing its quality for analytical purposes.
- Support in building reports and help automate processes.
- Assist in testing deliverables to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure all documentation (E.g. requirements, design, testing, user guide) is developed and maintained.
- Help to build strong relationships with business stakeholders.
- Ad hoc duties to assist the Digital Metering Transition team.
- Build Power BI dashboards and other decision support tools to report on key performance indicators in real-time and to improve team or operational performance.
About you:
- Passionate about data, analytics and problem solving.
- Proactive and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong time management skills with an ability to prioritise tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to effectively communicate with Sydney Water personnel.
- Collaboration and team building skills, both in face to face and online.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with large datasets.
- Tertiary qualification or certifications in data science, data and analytics, engineering, information management or other relevant fields desirable but not mandatory.
- Previous experience working with utilities or analytic product and service development.
- Exposure to SAP will be highly regarded.
- Working knowledge in using Power BI, Python and data bricks.
