About the role

As a Senior Change Lead, the purpose of this role is accelerating the adoption, utilization, and proficiency of business changes by enhancing change capability and maturity throughout the organization. This will be accomplished by raising awareness of change management practices through coaching and mentoring of people leaders and front-line employees at Sydney Water, as well as facilitating change workshops and learning initiatives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide change coaching and support to people leaders and key stakeholders within the business to facilitate the successful implementation of business change initiatives.
  • Develop and execute change management plans to maximise employee adoption of the future state and minimise change resistance.
  • Apply Sydney Water’s Change Management Framework to create and implement build and maintain relationships with change practitioners, communications and HR practitioners, people leaders and other key stakeholders to promote the Change Centre of Excellence and the benefits associated.

Who are we looking for?

  • Degree qualification in Change Management or Business-related discipline Prosci and/or Change Management Institute Practitioner accreditation, or other certification deemed equivalent.
  • Should have over 7 years of professional change management experience at a senior level, effectively working across all organizational levels, delivering presentations, and influencing outcomes at senior leadership and executive levels.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of best practices in change management and a thorough understanding of project and change management lifecycles, disciplines, procedures, methodologies, and tools.
  • Should have an in-depth understanding of how people navigate change and the effective interventions needed to support them through the change curve.

Highly experienced in collecting, analysing, and interpreting data examples include:

  • Identifying and prioritising impacted stakeholders
  • Change and data analysis - stakeholder assessments (understanding what their needs are and how to engage them), impact analysis.
  • Ability to conduct Training needs analysis.
  • Ability to conduct a communication needs analysis.
  • Ability to undertake change readiness and adoption assessments.
  • Change risk, assumption, issues and dependency management.
  • Design, Planning and delivery of fit for purpose change plans.

Specific Technical Skills:

  •  Advanced capabilities with Excel, PowerPoint and other change related software
  •  Basic- Intermediate Project Management skills

  • Good time management and prioritisation skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Sound business acumen.
  • Excellent communication - verbal, written and listening skills.
  • Good presentation skills
  • Understanding the fundamentals of change resistance and how to manage it
  • Confidence escalating issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to influence and manage 'difficult stakeholders’.
  • Balance of IQ and EQ - confident but humble, respectful, heightened levels of empathy for those affected by change.
