What’s the role and Who are we looking for?
The Operational Process Safety Lead- Major Hazardous Facility (MHF) position will be responsible for system implementation and continual improvement of the MHF facility site process safety activities and compliance to MHF licence regulatory requirements.
This position coordinates Process Safety Management (PSM) efforts at the MHF facility, including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and compliance audits.
You will provide technical expertise to the leadership and operating teams to help evaluate risks and cost-effectively resolve Process Safety issues, including recommendations from Safety case risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
The role will lead PHA processes, facilitate LOPAs, develop procedures, manage performance standards on controls, lead/participate in incident investigations, ensure safety and other training is up to date, interact with operations and maintenance, interface with external regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders including Sydney Water Safety and wellbeing team.
Our ideal team member will have a strong background within safety systems and leading regulatory processes, you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Science, Process safety management or equivalent experience
- Relevant valid driver's licence required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Water/ Process related industry
- Process safety and technical safety experience with stringent regulatory compliance requirements like an MHF
- Experience with Integrated Management Systems
- Internal auditor training
- Incident Investigation training
- Detailed knowledge of safety standards and quality management systems
- Demonstrated project management skills
