An exciting opportunity to join our Water Supply & Production (WS&P) team as a Operational Process Engineer, providing process design, production and operational expertise in the management, optimisation and improvement of Water systems.
Based at Potts Hill and the opportunity to work across various Water Filtration Plants
You will be part of an innovative process engineering team to support water product outcomes at Sydney Water.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support in 24/7 plant operations and contributes to introducing standardisation and new technology to achieve consistent product quality outcomes.
- Carry out advanced troubleshooting, optimisation and process modelling to achieve WS&P cost savings and improve product quality.
- Provide operational and technical advice on behalf of WS&P on product quality, process improvements and technologies.
- Plan and carry out bench and pilot-scale trials to assess the performance of new process technologies, chemicals, instrumentation, and optimisation of Water Filtration Plants (WFPs).
- Support WS&P teams in resolving complex technical issues relating to product quality or process related issues including during product quality incidents and emergencies.
Essential Requirements
- Degree qualified in Engineering or Science, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in water operations or similar process engineering environment.
- Relevant valid driver's licence required.
- Experience with SCADA systems, software for analytics and reporting, Microsoft Office applications and ability to use customised software packages.
- Demonstrated experience in hands on troubleshooting, optimisation and technical support to Water/Wastewater Treatment Operations.
- Stakeholder management skills in a team environment working across varying levels.
- Demonstrated experience in technical report writing and data analysis.
- Demonstrated technical capabilities that would enable process related diagnosis/ root cause analysis.
