Senior Process Improvement Lead – Customer Experience & Field Operations Program @ Sydney Water
- The Senior Process Lead (2IC to the Practice Manager – Business Process Improvement) will be key contributor in a complex business transformation program – take on existing challenges, adapt to new ones, and working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to synthesize and report effectively (in visual presentations or other reports) on the findings, issues, hot-spots, root-causes, possible solution directions, etc.
- This senior role that requires the breadth and depth of knowledge in project, program and portfolio governance.
- Given its importance – the role will receive adequate support and guidance from management and senior stakeholders.
About the role – key accountabilities:
As part of the Process & Data Analysis Stream of a large Business Transformation program, this role is part of the Process & Data Analysis Stream (one of the three major streams – the others being Human Centred Design and the Technology Stream) and key to its contributions and success.
- Highly Desirable- Experience in working in large Transformation programs in large utility organisations or similar large entities.
- Help the Customer Experience & Field Operations Program to define & deliver measurable process improvements.
- Help define hot-spots, pain points, in a methodological way, by themes and areas of concern.
- Facilitate group/SMEs for specific deliverables (e.g. defining issues, root causes, solution ideas, etc) as well as
- Present the findings (design/documentation or analysis) in a systematic way – tailoring it depending on the audience
- Communication skills: ability to communicate comfortably (orally, in writing) at all levels
- Producing concise and clear reports following workshop with SME or other stakeholders summarizing concepts with consequences and examples.
- Support the Process Stream team with drafting the weekly reporting to the program, and documenting risk analysis (the later if require)
- The role will also require, from time to time, facilitating process definition and creating documentation emphasizing the hands-on nature
About you - Experience and Skills:
Must have – senior-level, business improvement/process improvement specialist skills - at Black Belt level – and the experience of having participated or lead large improvement or transformation programs in significant organisations
- 7+ years’ experience in process improvement (Lean Six sigma Black Belt – including using DMAIC & PDSA, DFSS or similar)
- Demonstrated experience in implementing Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma and/or similar) methodologies to identify process waste and develop, develop valid and reliable measures, as well as solutions and implementation agreed by the business.
- Strong analytical/ statistical analysis skills, including the understanding and ability to set up valid and reliable process measurement
- Demonstrated experience and high-level skills communication, coaching/mentoring & presentation – meant to provide individual & team support and ensure Continuous Improvement capabilities scale across the broader business.
- Knowledge and experience with process mapping and analysis (Holocentric, Aris, Signavia, Minitab, SigmaExcel) tools
- Desirable – exposure to HCD (Human Centred Design) methodologies, Change Management Methods such as PROSCI/ADKAR or similar
