About the role

• Shared Services Finance Manager role is a leader in the organisation, this role plays an important part in engaging the team and stakeholders to inspire, build collaboration, coach and develop.
• As an active and engaged member in the management team, you will contribute to the implementation of Sydney Water’s vision and strategy, and the delivery of business value to Sydney Water and its stakeholders.
• This role will manage a driven team consisting of Management Reporting, Accounting Operations, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets and Treasury.
• A key driver in this role is to work collaboratively with the management team to create career progression for the team and development opportunities that lead to a multi-skilled, flexible workforce for the Shared Services Function, Business Connect. In this role, you will also:
• Lead service introduction, service delivery, service evaluation and improvement, and provide oversight of service operations to ensure the Shared Services centre meets client service, financial, contractual, and regulatory requirements and targets.
• Manage Finance and Accounts Payable services review and evaluation, monitor performance data (stakeholder feedback and performance against service levels, transaction volume and cost, etc.).

About you

• You have demonstrated your ability to drive well-developed strategic stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills in conjunction with a strong expertise/ experience in the full range of Finance shared services, including associate’s systems, processes and management. It is also important you have the following:
• Postgraduate degree in a Commercial discipline and/or experience deemed equivalent.
• Membership of CPA Australia or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia or equivalent qualifications
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in managerial finance or commerce of which 3+ years’ experience was in a management role in a shared services environment
• Excellent leadership and management skills in multi-functional, adaptive and flexible working environments
• Demonstrated experience in successfully resolving complex issues arising from conflicting priorities and agendas involving diverse stakeholder groups.
